Haha! Yep. Bella does this. Especially if I am on the floor playing with her and I bend down so she can reach my head. It cracks me up when she does it!
Well, no, at least not yet. But Sachi does do that to towels, especially freshly used towels. Kuma (the male) never shows an interest in those things. I think it is a female thing...
Yeah, my female Shiba does it to towels/rugs. And my dirty clothes. Sigh. The male does not. Both male dogs (AA and Shiba) were obsessed with my hair as pups though, but it usually began with a little sniffing, pushing their muzzles through my hair (as in your vid) then it quickly escalated to biting my hair, and in the case of my Shiba, hanging from my hair, so I put a quick stop to that! Neither are interested anymore.
Mei does it to me. She also does it to towels. She likes opening the kitchen drawers dragging out the kitchen towels and rubbing all over them. She's not allowed near the linen closet.
So, it sounds like the rubbing is a female Nihon ken thing I think it's pretty cute myself. Panda likes to do it to damp towels after they've just been washed, and grass sometimes. She even did it to my sister's hands (they were damp after just being washed). Panda's pretty gentle about it when she's rubbing on hair. She just takes the occasional nibble.
@Tara- You and you're pups are always welcome for a visit here in Reno! I think I met Koda that one time when he was 6 or was it 8 months old? . . . and I have to say, only now after working with Panda (she's 10 months now) trying my best to train her, do I realize how unbelievably well behaved Koda was at such a young age.
@7Stefan7- I saw the pics of your new shikoku puppy Akana. She's gorgeous!
I think Koda was 6-7 months old. Koda already had a lot of training though. Plus Kais are just easy given the right home environment.
I think if Koda had been a Shikoku, it would have been a lot tougher to train him. lol. I bet Panda is a very good girl. I have one rule (amongst many) with my dogs. I never expect more than what is appropriate for their age/development. Be patient. She will get there.
