  • Saya loves shows with animals she went nuts with a show on wolves it had a bit on caribou and they were making noises and she was getting excited and stuff.

She gotten excited with birds or fox before too! I watched Mari and her three puppies and she sat there watching it at various points mostly when the shiba pup was on it and when she heard the two kids. She got really alert during the earthquake scene she started to alert bark like when she sees a person that doesn't belong or skunk. I wonder if she understood something scary was happening probably the scared cries of the kid, and the lady and dog made her worried.

Saya is only dog I had that really payed attention to tv with certain stuff she did it for the movie Bolt.

Bella does it sometimes too, but she has less types shows she likes.
  • Haha, @Saya - yeah, Mirra in the past has watched t.v. when we've been watching Nat Geo or Animal Planet... especially if there is some howling going on. She's also been known to join in with the howling, lol...
Ki's excitement over seeing the pigs was SO funny!! I could just see her brain going, "WHA is THAAAATT!!!!???? I want it!!!" lol Especially when she got upset and started whining when the pigs went away and the reporter came on screen... Ah, still chuckling over it today...lol
  • Only Sage watches tv at our house. When he was younger (8mos) I borrowed the Turid Rugaas "Calming Signals" dvd and he became upset and highly reactive to the dog sounds and dog faces on the screen. We're proud of him today because he can tolerate canines on tv with just pricked ears and a tilted head.
  • lol, sweet Sage... You weren't kidding about being a specialist, huh @WrylyBrindle? lol Mirra is funny about the howling.. every couple of days or so we do a family howl with her... she really loves it! Anyone looking in the windows at that point would probably think we are all totally nuts...which we probably are..lol She loves it, so we love it! :oD
So, now I'm really curious what Ki would do if she saw a pig/boar in real life!! I hope one day we'll find out! I've gotten in touch with a couple of bird dog trainers around here, but they all want to take Ki for a month to live/train with them... I said, uh, no... I don't think so.... lol
