Great! I thought the tugging was fine, but my girlfriend kept second guessing me, especially when Eevee or the puppy starts growling. I know the dogs are very vocal in their play, but it makes my girlfriend uneasy. I should show her Kris's vids of Kuma and Sachi.. they're a loud pair.
We have a meeting with a trainer on Saturday to evaluate the two. I want to see if Eevee can become a therapy dog and Mochi for agility, frisbee, and/or flyball. She's going to meet with us and evaluate their drive and do a few behavior tests with them. I'm actually kind of nervous on what she'll say.
So, I wanted to test out my new camera so I took some photos of the fur babies at the dog park. I've never had a nice camera before so it's a learning experience for me. Hope you like the photos!
We also met a Shiba Inu there. He was very shy but Eevee was gentle.
Now for the update: We finished basic obedience last week. We are reinforcing the techniques before we get the trainer's help to get the CGC. Mochi is doing well with his frisbee training. I'm still trying to get him obsessed. He likes the Aerobie pro rings the most.
Eevee got out of her collar two days ago and I couldn't run to get her because of my slippers. I ran home to put on sneaker and she was at the door when I opened. That was a sigh of relief. I need to work on both their recalls. It seems Mochi's recall is slipping. I used to be able to call him regardless of what he's doing but he's had instances when he doesn't come when called.
Oh, after their obedience classes, I asked the trainer on how she obtained her CCPDT and she would like me to shadow her to pursue my CCPDT so that's exciting.
I went to the park today and took Mochi for a test. I have been training him in kiddie pools to swim. I also have been trying to get him obsessed about Frisbees... well, here is a short video of or progress.
So.. we just came back from Istanbul and we haven't finished unpacking. Mochi found a bottle of ibuprofin that he ate... Here is the photo at the vet:
He had a dose of activated charcoal, an IV, and a catheter. He was chewing on his catheter so they gave him "the cone of shame." Fortunately, we got him to the vet within the hour and he threw up a few times. Hopefully we caught everything. The vet said he shouldn't have any long term effects.
We brought Eevee along because she kept bugging us to take her along too. So, when the doctors took Mochi back, she was crying
