  • That's really annoying. Conker did this when I first moved back in, was always getting out and testing every section of the fence. He doesn't anymore, but I'm sure he could get out of he really wanted to.
  • Have you gotten a chance to see how they do it? If you have one of those hunting cameras you can see how they get out...
  • Yea, I've seen them do it. They dig a hole and then squeeze under it.
  • @brada1878 The owner of the stud I tried to breed Gojira to had an interesting kennel setup. He has a half acre (iirc) exercise area for the dogs. Its fenced in with chain link. There is also a 4' piece of fence laying down on the ground all the way around the yard (2' inside the yard and 2' outside the yard). I'm not sure how it was attached to the earth, but nothing is going to dig through that!
  • We had chicken wire all along the underside of the fence so when Mochi tried to dig a hole the first time, it was uncomfortable for him and he eventually stopped trying. We also put rocks on top of the chicken wire so it flattened out nicely and grass grew over it. It's a nihon ken proof construction. By the gates we just put really heavy rocks. Mochi never escaped :) He's only one dog though and can't climb trees as far as i know.
  • Wow Brad, either they're rebelling, or letting you know it's time to start the move early lol :) ~
  • It must be stressfull for you to have dogs who go out alone :s

If you consider seriously extending your efforts of preservation with Europe, it would be good to let me know too ! I will experienced my firt Kaï in 2013... the start of a love story with the breed? :P
  • like I say with mine, they're like the raptors from Jurassic Park hehe... And your place is like the freaking isla sorna of the southwest for NKs. Maybe at this new place you should upgrade to a JP style enclosure. Just remember when they start tapping their dewclaws, RUN!
