He really loves Ana! He did the armpit thing with my mom, but she was always in her recliner when he would do it, so he never progressed to humping because the chair was in the way.
He is just coming away from a bitch in heat, so that may be part of it, but I would say it's probably more likely he is a tad over stimulated/excited with all the great attention you guys are giving him (which isn't a bad thing at all!) I did catch him trying to give me a hump at your place also, so I think he is just expressing his love (he is generous like that
Maybe when you see him start to do this next time, interupt him with an "ah ah" and get up and walk away. If a verbal correction doesn't first help, you can always try a redirect to a toy or game, or some obedience commands and food, also. If he seems determined, perhaps a short time out in his travel crate, very matter of factly, like "Ok Kuma, time out" and walking him to his crate, may help.
He did some serious armpit burrowing the other night and was getting a little excited so I just got up and sat at the computer and ignored him for a bit. He calmed down in a pretty short time. I don't think it will be a problem, he's quite receptive. Though I do think we'll have to keep the love sac/bean bag thing folded out as a bed because he just loves napping on it.
He doesn't mind it, He will go through creeks and stuff if I go first but he isn't one to just jump in to swim. The water is pretty cold this time of year though. I'll take him swimming with me this summer. So far he was been pretty game for anything as long as i go with him!
Ok I'll try and get some tomorrow, He just started taking treats tonight so i'm pretty excited to start working on his recall. He chased a squirrel up a short tree today. So I tried kicking the tree but Akuma didn't stick with the squirrel lol goofball.
Just an update, Akuma has been here over a week now. He's done wonderful. He fits right in and it feels like we've had him way longer than we have. No accidents, very responsive, goofy, sleeps all night out of the crate on the floor by the bed, playful and is super affectionate/cuddly. He loves hikes and certainly will keep us fit chasing after squirrels, bunny and deer. He even got to chase a toad. We just love him.
That is an awesome photo! He is super handsome in person and I'm really glad he is fitting in so well. I cried a bit early on, but it was clearly a good fit and he looked totally comfortable with you guys. I was figuring he was a larger game type of Kai guy since he showed no interest in the chickens when they were out together. Are you going to take up hunting now?
Ana and I started working on Akuma leash manners today and he did very well. It was a tough setting since it was really nice out and everyone was out with their dogs but he did well. Usually when other dogs are around Akuma wants to engage them and I know he wants to bite their buts and make them cry lol. Anyways we used treats to get him the heel and sit when other dogs passed and he didn't engage them even when the small dogs wanted to get in his face we were so proud. There was a moment when a lady with a rude dog was like "oh he is so good" and I was thinking yeah if I take his treats away he is going to eat your dog for a treat. We are very proud of him!

I'm glad he is taking treats. I bet he felt kinda full after not pooing for a couple days. The squirrels by you better watch out!
