Humping Mode!

edited November 2012 in Kai Ken (甲斐犬)
Ok, so it's been a while (15 years) since I've dealt with a humping male dog. Goro is driving ChoCho crazy with his raging hormones and while she wants to play she doesn't want to be humped... which is what play means to Goro nowadays. We try to correct him when she's beginning to get bothered, and when it gets too crazy we crate him.

I was just wondering how much should we intervene or should we just let ChoCho correct him when she feels the need to?

  • We intervene with Leo and Bel sometimes, mostly because Bel goes from slightly annoyed to homicidal in less than 30 secs, so it's best for us to keep an eye on them. But Bel does a pretty good job of correcting him (usually NOT overcorrecting) so we only do intervene when they get really worked up, which happens in the house at dinner time (now Leo is crated during dinner prep so no one gets too excited).

She humps him right back, though! *lol*

I guess you can intervene if it looks like Cho is really had enough, but if she'll correct him on her own without going overboard, I imagine that is ok too!
  • i gave up with kaiju. the only thing is i am not comfortable with him n kilbun so have to separate them after a couple of hours. i let bea correct kaiju when he decides to hump her.
