LJ: No, I'm not using photoshop. My free trial expired. I've done most of the basic stuff using iPhoto and all of the scaling croping using Graphic Converter.

Oh!  I'll be of no help to you then, sorry Frown

Photoshop is the most efficient way but paint is the quickest way!
  • edited November -1
True, but it doesn't give options on saving the file based on compression

If you want to e-mail me a copy of the original file, I can try and get the green eye out for you.  I can't promise anything, but I'll give it a shot.

same thing - I'll play with it

Thanks guys! I've uploaded an unedited version and an edited version: http://www.cc.gatech.edu/~robertsd/image/lucy-and-joey-unedited.jpg and http://www.cc.gatech.edu/~robertsd/image/lucy-and-joey-edited.jpg. I really appreciate the help. I suppose at some point I'm going to have to cave and buy some real editing software.

Great update, thanks. Joey looks like such a sassy boy and it's wonderful that he and Lucy are such good buddies already.

A much cheaper alternative to Photoshop is Deneba's Canvas. It combines a vector program with image modification and I got it for $150 via an educational discount.

I will play with it in the am when I can focus on the screen!

I'm thinking about buying Aperture for the mac. I messed around with it for a while during the free trial and liked the features it had. A few things about the interface bothered me, but I can get over that pretty easily.

Dave, you can get The Gimp for free and it has as much in it as Photoshop. For Mac, you just need to make sure you have X11 installed, for i to run.
  • edited November -1
Ya know, I do already have it installed. I don't know why I didn't think of trying that. Thanks Rui!

I've emailed the pic to you - let me know if that works for you.

Just realized when I zoomed in on Lucy's face - there's green in one of her  eyes - I'll fix and resend.

Thanks LJ! As usual, you rock!

    Thank you so much!

I guess it's time for another update....

Lucy seems to be over the worst of her acting up and what is left I am controlling by strategic timing of leashing her up. Joey is getting huge! He's almost as tall as Lucy is, but not as long.

I'm not sure why, but I really like this picture of the two of them playing:

    image

They are still playing real nice for the most part, but Lucy is starting to take away a few of his puppy privileges like allowing him to take toys away from her or allowing him to play with a toy she wants. My theory is that she is starting to realize how big he's going to be and wants to start asserting her dominance now. It makes sens in my head anyway. :-P I couldn't be happier with how things are progressing between the two of them!

Brad has the watch dogs of casa Anderson, I've got my own. They both like to sit on top of the couch and look out the back window:

Lucy, unfortunately has had a bit of a setback with her bowel issues. I don't know if it is the new food I had her on or if she ate something else that I didn't see, but she's back on antibiotics and a bland diet to settle her SIBO. Her vet gave me a stern talking to for trying to switch her away from a food that was working for her. I may just have to give in and keep her on that forever.

Anyway, she hasn't been feeling great recently and Joey seems to know that. He has been less frisky with her. In fact, he even went over to her bed to snuggle with her when she was doing really bad. I was touched by his sensitivity to her:

On our walk today, we bumped into a couple of dog owners that have seen us walking a lot but we've never met. Lucy and Joey got to play with a Weinmaraner and a Boston Terrier while I chatted with their owners. They had a blast! On the way back, Joey pooped in the middle of the road while walking...eeeewwwww. He has also lost his bladder three times when getting really excited to see someone he likes (twice in the house :-().

Anyway, the last bit of spam....You wouldn't know it from the frequency of my forum posts, but I've been really really busy the last few weeks. Lucy and Joey have been doing a great job of keeping each other occupied while I ignore them doing work on the couch. I took this video of them playing this afternoon.

I hope you enjoyed the update!

I just love Lucy & Joey spam.  I can't believe how fast Joey is growing.  I love the shot of Joey snuggled up to Lucy.

cute, cute, cute.  The picture of JoJo and LuLu lying together is priceless.  I hate to hear about Lucy's setback.  She is such a special girl.  What bland were you feeding her and what did you try and switch to?

I've watched/enjoyed the video twice.  Sure does bring back memories of Jake and his baby teeth wanting to chew on my hands!

had to watch a 3rd time Laughing and the biggest scuffle between the two happened when Joey had control over that colorful toy and Lucy wasn't gonna stand for that.  I absolutely love this breed and the Shiba rules of engagement.  They are the least rude dogs I've ever encountered.  Keep the spam coming.

Lucy was on Royal Canin/IVD kibble. I tried to switch her to Natural Balance and she was doing really well on it and then without warning she took a turn for the worse. She's now on IVD canned formula which is a bland version of the kibble and I'll be putting her back on the IVD kibble once her stool firms up again.

that's so sad - I hope Lucy feels better soon.

I love the snuggle pic!!!! I wish my babies snuggled like that. Looks like you might have a power struggle on your hands!!! When Keigo has a rope toy, Mika aways wants to play tug of war, but Keigo drops it. Keigo's all 'Ok, if you want it that bad, just ask, silly.'

Thanks guys! :-) Joey got weighed today and he's 13.7 pounds at 13 weeks old :-O. Lucy is only 15.9 pounds. I think he is going to end up being really big.
