@mdokic I also was told that Kai aren't prone to returning so I was convinced he wouldn't. Especially since we've only have had him for 4 months so he isn't extremely adjusted to us yet.
Our shiba was randomly barking throughout the night so I kept thinking making she was seeing him at our back door or in the window so even though I was upset she kept waking me up, I kept looking outside but I wasn't seeing anything. But I never checked our front door. So I wonder if she did see him, and he would run off or run to the front door before I came out to look in the back.
Regardless...He scared the crap out of me when I opened the door and he bum rushed in.
He doesn't even look distressed, but definitely is tired and surprisingly not covered in dirt. It did rain a little bit last night so I hope he just found some shelter for a while.
At least our shiba had the friggin time of her life because I called up my friend to come take her while we were out looking for him. So she got to romp ALL DAY with her best bud, the Australian Cattledog mix Ellie looking for christmas trees, helping decorate the trees, runnings around etc.
@jwallwalrus I just meant I didn't think it was a hard-fast rule that a kai will never return, regardless of whether they tend to do one thing or another, I think you have some evidence Kiba loves his new home he just went on an adventure that was not so fun for you or anyone else who was worrying about him! :P
