TINKERBELL!!!

edited April 2008 in Rescue

I am very proud to say that my favorite dog and I at animal control accomplished a first for Providence Animal Control.

Tinkerbell is the first dog at PAC to pass her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification test, before even finding a home!!! She is only the 3rd dog ever in Rhode Island to achieve this before being adopted!

Now will some worthy person please adopt this dog. I am beyond in love with her!

*word
of caution, whomever is lucky enough to get Tink needs to become
friends with me because she needs to remain part of my life*

WOW! That's great Jessica! Congrats! I know you have been working hard for this - mission accomplished!

(not surprising that you would accomplish it tho)

I am not surprised this accomplishment goes to a pit/mix?  They get bad raps from being raised by some idiots, but they are very intelligent, loving, gentle and great companions.

Way to go Jessica (and Tink)! As Brad said, not much of a surprise that you'd be the one to make it happen. :-D

    She is beautiful!!

Do pit/mixes have an odor? I was talking
to a woman in the dog park yesterday who was 'tempted' to adopt a
boxer/pit mix at the local shelter except she thinks they will 'stink
up my existance'. Those are literally her exact words. I told her she's
better off letting someone who will love the dog without conditions
adopt him. She stopped talking to me.

    Tsuk.... you crack me up.

Well pits don't shed stink out like Shibas and other double coated breeds do.  I would say that they do not get as stinky or oily as labs, but they can get a "dog smell" and sometimes leave a residue on your fingers.  When they get that dog smell, you wash them, and they smell fresh.  It's not really rocket science, but it might be too much for that lady.

Most of the ones I have seen at the shelter that stink, or are really dirty, obviously did not come from the best homes.

I wish you could too. You are one of the few people who I would consider deserving of her.
