Tarsus pain

Hi

My akita puppy has pain in his right leg at the tarsus joint now i think it may be a slight sprain he can walk and run on it fine i was doing my regular flea check and when i touched this area he growled and had a snap at me he didn't make contact but it was enough to make me know something was wrong It seems very tender to the touch so does anybody have any suggestions on what it could be and if it is only a slight sprain which i think it is does anybody have any treatment advice.

    Sorry to hear it! I don't have any advice other than try to keep him off it a bit and if it is still sore in a day or two, I'd take him to the vet. If it's swollen, you could try to ice it, but I imagine it would be pretty hard to get him to be still for that.

    This is odd....I see your post listed twice.

    I would give it a rest and then recheck. However, if he continues to be snappy about it, then it is significant enough to get it checked by a vet. Here's a link why it is wise not to wait too long to get help.

    He's fine now it rained and he slipped on some tiles and his leg twisted under him but it seems to be fine now.
    He will let me squeeze and touch it now so no damage done.
