In 3 weeks I'm going to meet my (hopefully) akita pup!
Hi all,
I have been waiting for a long time to finally bring a NK into my home, and suddenly I get the opportunity to get a pup from a great Polish breeder, and despite the fact that I am on the wait for a kai pup, I have decided to go for it. It is a huge opportunity for me, and the pups are really great and all brindle, which is my favorite color, so on top of the pups being healthwise, and conformationwise topquality, they have just that extra something (for my taste)!
And I wanted an akita anyway, so I guess it's a good thing that I might get the akita first, so that my kai can grow up with the akita. Having 2 rather young dogs at once might be challenging, but this is too good to pass by.
The pups where born 12th September, and I am going to have a girl, since my kai will be male.

I must confess, that it was this pic from the 3 week mark, that won me over
But, as was originally my point with this topic, I am going to visit the breeder in 3 weeks and I am sooo excited!
Can't wait to meet the little wonders! And I have no idea who the favorite will be once I return home ;P

My impression is that it is sometimes hard to tell!

So far none of them are suspected to become longcoats, but it is very difficult to see at such an early age, so I'm not certain yet...

I'm so curious about how breeders know what pups are going to be like as adults....Maybe I should start a thread about that. I just look and see puppies! But I know breeders have to make decisions before 8 weeks on who will/wont' be show quality, etc.....I know it's experience, but I'd love to know what people are looking at that helps them...
anyway, can't wait til you meet them! Where in Poland are they? (I used to live in southern Poland)
I don't know how they can tell, but I do know they have some tricks to tell
