Attn Florida members: Mochi the Kai is Lost!

Mochi, Brad's Kai girl, was on her way to Orlando, Florida late last night (11/20) and escaped her crate after touching down. Anybody in that area, please call Brad or respond if you can help look. Please do all you can to keep tabs on shelter intakes. She has a collar, is chipped, is spayed, about 20lbs, brindle, etc.

    If there is anything I can do, please let me know. If I was in Florida, I would be there searching.

    I posted on the Kai Yahoo Group. I know of at least two Kai owners in Orlando. One does work in rescue. Maybe she could help get ahold of the shelters.

    Update from Osy: Mochi was spotted by the airport staff about an 1:30 ago. She's healthy, but scared and won't let anyone near her. Brad is now there and they are still looking.

    This is so typical Kai behavior. Take them out of their familiar zone and they freak. Once you lose control it's difficult to get them back. They go pherrill

    So far, they have not seen her again...

    Everyone, please... Keep Mochi in your thoughts/prayers... She is scared and in such an unfamiliar location.

    And if anyone knows anyone in the Orlando area that is willing to help with the search, please contact Osy or Brad. I am sure they would take any help they could get!

    No news in the last few hours. They are going to take Osy's dutch shepherd out to try to scent trail her. That's all I know at this point.

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Mochi. I really now how does it feel. Ife has been lost couple of times. Just hoping that this will end well.

    My dads company is doing the construction at the airport. I'm having him email Mochis pic and info to the Orlando office now.

    Passed the Facebook entry to a relative in Orlando area. Sent it to his office, so I hope the info gets distributed.

    I have a friend that I have been talking to that works at Disney... He is going to distribute Mochi's info to his co-workers. I know it is a long shot, but he is also going to talk to some of the K-9 handlers that work for the park security to see if maybe we can 'borrow' an SAR dog and his or her handler for a few hours.

    If things look positive with that, Osy (@Sangmort), can I give him your number?

    I feel so bad. If it wasn't the busiest week in fundraising, I would take a flight out right now and help you look for her. It sucks being so far away and not being able to help.

    Turner got the email. Fingers crossed that we get a report of her.

    Assume you have contacted HomeAgain folks. If not yet, do so. They will send out an alert to HomeAgain subscribers in the area. This is one of their services.
