Kai in Illinois?

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new here and have been reading about Kai-ken. They sound like wonderful dogs. I live north of Chicago, and I'm wondering if there are any Kai owners nearby. I'd love to meet you and your dog to get a better sense of what they're like.

    I believe @Yogadog would be closest kai ken owner around you? There might be some other owners in the area too that I'm not remembering.

    I have a puppy owner in Chicago, but they are not active on the forum. One of my current puppies will be going to Chicago next weekend.

    My family is just over the border in Wisconsin. I plan on taking the dogs with me on a visit end of July/ Beginning of August. If you haven't met up with a Kai by then, just let me know and we can arrange a drive by meeting. :)

    Kai are AMAZING! We live in the western suburbs of Chicago with Nero. We are also reasonably familiar with at least 2 other Kai in the area. I'm also beginning making arrangements for our second Kai. Incredible dogs for a great many reasons. Certainly not for everyone, but if you understand what Kai are going in I can't express how rewarding it will be.

    Nero has been wonderful addition to our 'pack.' Although I'm not sure the cat agrees with me LOL

    I don't visit the forums as often as I used to as I've drifted more toward Facebook (ewwww) however feel free to message me. I really should check the forums more often.

    @Valkyrii Nero is beautiful. Maybe we could meet up sometime soon? I don't usually have a car but I could try to get a ride from a friend. I'll message you.

    @audley I responded you your PM. We can certainly work something out. This site is a great resource on the breed and there are so many helpful people here. Not only did we get a great addition to our family with Nero, but we sort of got an extended family of friends as a bonus! Although like I said, I'm guilty of having transitioned to the ease of Facebook (which pains me to admit.)

    @audley it was very nice to meet you and awesome of @yogadog to host. Her and her hubby are awesome!

    I hope Nero and Hello Kitty gave you a good idea of some things you can expect in Kai, especially as they are both fairly different personalities. :)
