Eukanuba/Iams makes a renal diet that is low protien (Multi-stage renal and Early stage renal), and Sci Diet makes L/D (low protien liver diet) and K/D (renal diet). Purina makes some and so does Waltham and Royal Canin I think. Usually the Renal or Liver diets are all low protien.
Solid Gold's Holisitque Blendz I believe is advertised as lower protein. It might be much easier, however, and healthier than going commercial medicated, to combine this diet with homecooked (as is often recommended by the manufacturer).
Why would you want low protein? Not like purina has high protein anyway since I think they run about 26% and most of the brands I would feed a dog are 32-42%. Dogs are carnivores. They do best on a diet of mostly animal protein. Take a read through sites like http://www.dogfoodproject.com/ and http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ (I think I have the right link but it seems to be down right now). If there is a health issue related to protein I would look at getting better quality protein not low protein if he's not even on a really high protein food now.
Well Shawna said everything I was going to say, if the dog has kidney problems wean him off of cereal proteins to put him on quality meat protein. It'll be better for the dog.
