It's tougher this time since with toshi I was on vacation but I plan to do the same stuff off leash with kuro once he has all his shots.
-
I'm a little nervous how he will be off leash Gen. Wish the garmin Astro collar would fit him. He's a lot different than Toshi in that even in new weird situations he's fine without me for the most part. Toshi will be constantly looking for me. ku…

Toshi will let him eat his food when he's eating but he gets pissed when he's trying to eat and kuro is chomping on his ass or ear.
-
Toshi is doing a great job especially considering all the crotch chomping kuro does to him. Kuro has an interesting routine when they eat. After they are done kuro waits till toshi goes outside and then he goes and has a second helping of Toshi's fo…

He's done good out in public. He's been good with strangers and the dogs he's met so far. He's cool with our cat too, besides one incident of biting her on the ass when he first got here.

Update, sorry no pics lately...I've been busy. Kuro got his shots today and is doing well. He's at 17.5lbs as of today. He no longer cries in the crate and hasn't had any accidents. Althought I've been on him so I haven't let any accidents happe…

That not giving a damn must come from Taro cause Kishin I think is that way as well.
-
(Image) Tried to get him to chase me, worked well with Toshi everytime but Hakurou just isn't in the mood. Little bastard.
-
Thanks @whobitme I was using flickr from my phone and the copy link doesn't work. By the way he's 13lbs as of today. @shishiinu I will be making a trip to SD soon to socialize him with some friends dogs, maybe I can take him by to meet his dad, al…

@navydog I will post updates on here, once I figure out how to post pictures again since Flickr changed. We picked him up yesterday and he's an awesome little monster. My Kai Toshi really likes him and they wrestle all the time. We are working on h…

I haven't been on here in a while but I will posting updates of Kuro and his growth and hunting progress. We'll pick him up this afternoon. Thanks @crispy for all her help and giving me time to convince the wife to get another puppy.

My kai trees cats and will bark at them once he knows they can't go anywhere but down.
-
@brada1878 watching @Shishiinu 's Taro, he was pretty good off leash so hopefully kishin will get there with age.
-
I had healthy paws for the first year, the plan seems good cause they cover 90% of all non routine incidents but I never had to use them and like others decided it better to just put that money away for future vet bills if needed.

My original post wasn't ever questioning if they are literally a different species, they are obviously dogs. Not everyone feels they are part of the family unit and there are those that would argue they are the same as children... again, not in …

any update on this?

@losech maybe you should get a CO or Boerbel for your brother to scare
-
@5 months, Toshi was 32.4lbs

I'm in the same mindset as you in that I don't see the need to kill animals that have low population density. if a predatory animals population gets out of control for some reason I see hunting them to manage that. even non predatory animals tha…

Toshi was pretty much full size at 7 months (42lbs), I weighed him often and out it into a chart app. he's about 45lbs now so I don't expect much more weight gain. his male litter mate is over 52lbs though and the females are all in the 30…

@brada1878 he's great with kids and puppies but I wasn't sure if him being an only dog might make him jealous. He will still get the same amount of attention though. even more for a few months since I'll be off work for the baby.
-
thanks everyone

the recent pictures I posted of Toshi on the forum are within a month of the 1 year mark. speaking to kazans owner, he is the largest of the litter at about 52lbs

I always figured it's similar to human children in that in certain early stages they are more capable of forming strong bonds. my kai is bonded to me but is still good friends with almost any dog he's met. I think the bond makes him better off le…
