Sasha right now has homeagain, name, rabies and getmehome.  Yes I am ultra psycho and want my dogs home.  I am starting to feel like I am getting out of control but I want no excuse to not have my puppies back.

I think I am out of control!  Please tell me I am a freak and which to get rid of.  The AKC also has info to get Niko home also....UGH!

This has been bothering me for a while.  Im not too worried about Sasha because she is a big girl but is this too much for Niko?

Oh, I don't know! I only have one tag on the collar when I do have them on. Most of the time they end up getting lost anyways. Actually, I had 2 because of the rabies tag, but that also broke off and got lost! Ah! I need to get a stronger ring for the tags.

So, I guess you can have as many tags as you wish, if they aren't bothering your dogs. It's O.K.!

Thanks corina!  You dont help!  LMAO

We have a really strong ring after an incident with a weak one and have all tags on one ring.  We never take the tags or collars off either.  Again, did I mention im ultra paranoid?  To me I think that anyone would love to keep my babies!  But of course someone may pay me to take Niko back...hehe

If it makes you feel batter then I think it's fine... I have gone as far as to consider this thing:

When the dog GPS tracking goes down in price, you can bet I'll have one.

I don't think you need to worry about the necks of your dogs.  The tags way so little.  Get a "Quiet Spot" to tuck them all into.

I'd really like to get one of these for hiking w/ the dogs:

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=209

Tracks up to 10 dogs at one and shows their coords on a map!

I'd get a tag bag if I were you!  I had one for Tojo back when he had three tags.  Now, all the dogs just have one tag each.  It's just a name tag with our phone number on it.  Plus, they are microchipped.  Tojo used to have a rabies tag and a city dog license tag, but the rabies tag got so worn you couldn't read it after only a month, so what's the point?  As to the license tag, we no longer live in a municipality, so our dogs don't have licenses.

Oh yeah - about those dog tracking devices.  I totally want one!  I will absolutely, definitely, no questons about it get one if I ever plan to have my dogs off leash somewhere off my own property.  I'm especially thinking for S&R when I get into that someday.  There are GPS and radio tracking ones and the radio ones are less expensive since you don't have to pay a monthly fee, but then again, they cover a finite area.

Ok - let me geek out for a bit here...

I have developed a few cell phone apps and in doing so I noticed most of the carriers and devices have built in GPS that you can hook into via low-level code implementation.

When I was building the cell-phone based weather.com app I played around with the GPS a bit. I think I could totally write a cheap SIM based cell broadcaster that would broadcast lat, long cords of anything that had the device (like a dog). You can even make basic GSM cell devices for little money.

My real close friend wrote the weather.com interactive flash map - I bet we could use that to plot the cords of the dogs on it... it uses Microsoft's earth mapping software, so it's pretty good.... hmmm... I think I hear a DIY project in my future.

Really - if it output basic lat, long coords in a standard you could prob hook the device to any mapping software - it could even be emailed from the device to someone.

We have an inventor in our midst!
