I saw this episode of the dog whisperer last night with a Shiba Inu!  Of course they named the segment "The Escape Artist"

Basically this couple got a Shiba named "Chula".  They had a problem with her bolting out the door whenever it was open.  Come to find out, the owners only took her out for a walk ONCE A WEEK!!!!  I was thinking...DUH, no wonder that dog bolts out, she barely gets out!!! They went for a walk, very little correcting needed and she was able to sit in front of the open door no problem.

Some owners boggle my mind.
