This created a movement to get the rarer Asian breeds added to the the dog ancestry database. This would be an AMAZING thing as we would finally be able to prove whether a suggested Nihonken was in fact a Nihonken. Jen and I will be submitting cheek scrapes from Kona, Ahi and Loa and it would be GREAT if you guys could do this too. The catch is that it is best to only provide samples from non-siblings [or half siblings], the more removed and diverse the better. If you are interested, this is how it will work - you will receive a kit to make your samples, you send your samples over to the lab [in the US it will be sent to DNAPrint]. As an incentive, DNA worldwide will add each individual dog's results to the database, provide a generic breakdown into the four types of dog outlined above and provide a genotype for each dog, free of any charge.
