Notice how hectic it can be, with the snarkies and stuff, but not chaotic or mean. Its funny - when we used to do the dog park, several owners of other dogs would be all "Um, your dogs are fighting?". No, no they aren't. Tsuki and Kitsune: Tsuki, Hachi and some Kitsune (not a great video, but you get it) And this is one of my favorite Youtube'rs, RedShibaMan. His Shibas are awesome, and this is a fun little video. And they are all show shibas, so they have the best kind of coats! Tsuki is a sneak, I love her for it! And Hachi is a doll, sometimes she can be so sweet, From The Pack 2.0 but she hates the camera, she won't even look at it unless I trick her (compared to Tsuki the Ham!).. so any good shots I get of her are pretty rare. ## _dlroberts · 2008-10-04T21:13:02.000Z Great spam Jen! She's never had a bandanna on before today! Her disgust was adorable! Miko seems to be just starting. We are considerably further north than you. His coat was pretty sad a few weeks ago. Miko is harder to tell. She is only 8 months, and it isn't like I have much to compare her to. ## tsukitsune (moderator) · 2008-10-06T11:15:47.000Z Well that is reassuring, i think those two gals are a lot alike! Is it like she has very little soft fuzzy undercoat? I know it had a lot to do with Hachi's hormone fluctuations and undoubtadly added stressors, but she just will NOT stop shedding! It comes in clumps! And there is still more! You can see the gray/white soft fur very close to the surface of the rough black guard hairs and they are what come out in clumps. I only furminated her 3 times since getting her, and the rest with a rubber long toothed grooming comb. I'm just a tad concerned for winter, its gonna be cold for her! ## brandon_w (admin) · 2008-10-06T11:17:12.000Z Nemo hardly blew coat this year. As it gets colder I'm hoping to see her winter coat come in - RI gets the cold before PA! The other two have their normal full coats still, they both blew them in early spring and that was about it for them! Brandon - how hot does it get in WI? He has a consistently heavy coat? I'm still learning about these coats, I only had Tsuki for the whole of last winter, and when we adopted Kitsune he already had his January coat :) ## JessicaRabbit (admin) · 2008-10-06T11:20:27.000Z Mikos top coat is almost fully in. He face is still mostly red undercoat. When Moto is blowing his under coat makes him look splotchy and not as black. In truth I almost never groom them. They are both pretty snuggly so I just give them really good scritches and that loosens enough of their undercoats that I can do it all manually. ## ljowen123 (moderator) · 2008-10-06T11:25:40.000Z The clumps are major - I've furminated once, just to help it along. Most of the shedding is left to her back legs now. I'm sure her other coat will come in soon. I just wanted to point out, and it may have already been brought up, Hachi was an outside dog before you got her, right? An outside dog would probably have a MUCH higher tolerance for cold and blow their coat later in the year then a mostly inside dog. She was a 24/7 outside dog to the best of my knowledge before coming home to us, so that makes a great deal of sense. It seems like such a simple answer but it didn't even cross my mind!!!
