hello everyone. my name is matt, i reside in texas. i just got my 1st akita from a friend of mine who had pups. his name is max. i got him when he was 2 months old and has been a joy to my family since. he is the smartest dog i have ever owned, and i have owned alot. he is now 4 months old and 44lbs. he is trained on hand signals and is starting to bring me my house shoes. he is a dear around our children who are 5 and 3. i can deffinitly tell that is instinct to be on gaurd is kicking in. he is blonde with white legs and a black mask. as soon as i figure out how to post pics i will. nice to meet everyone.

Welcome Matt. I lived and went to high school in Round Rock Texas when the population was 2,811. I loved it there with friendly people, beautiful blue lakes and progressive. Where in Texas are you? I think most of the Japanese breeds are quite smart, some just more obedient at an earlier age. Congratulations and we'll look forward to pictures. You can download them free on photobucket and then transfer them to the forum.
