About a month ago, Joey started nibbling on Lucy and licking her ears. She would turn her head away and tolerate it for about three seconds before nipping him on the nose. It so reminded me of Brad's video of Hilo and Kaia (included here for context in case you haven't seen it before): I've been meaning to catch Lucy and Joey on video having their little love fests, but I haven't been fast enough. Well, it seems that Joey is finally winning her over because she now seems to enjoy it. I was actually able to catch it on video today! On the Lucy front, she is doing a lot better. She's tolerating the new steroids significantly better, although she is still a little bit depressed. Luckily we were able to reduce her dose by half last week and if all continues to go well over the next week, we'll reduce again. In the Philippines, we would call Lucy suplada (spelling) for bearing her teeth while he's being all cute and sweet. There's not real direct translation. It's a culmination of words in English. A mix of bitchy, aloof, not wanting affection, stubborn, mean. Poor Joey. All love sick and noone to appreciate him. Lucy might be in love with her Daddy Roberts. And she is responding very typically of a female shiba! Although, occasionally our shibas reverse their love-fest order where Tsuki is loving on Kitsune and he's not so interested. Its adorable. A good inch+ taller and a lot thicker.
