We asked our vet for a referral but when we met the man, he was not at all what I want to work with. I had a bad feeling from the start, and after sessions it was just reinforced that he was not what I am looking to work with. So I am again searching. - - - - - Does anyone have any resources for web searches? Organizations to look for? It is no easy task to find a match at the level you may want for your dog's particular needs. It is a gray area and not all that are in the study of behaviorism deal directly with dogs. Make sure the individual is certified by CAAB if you need a behaviorist. For prelim. interview narrowing down: http://www.webtrail.com/petbehavior/guide.html Links for finding a qualified certified behaviorists: http://www.animalbehavior.org/ABSAppliedBehavior/ http://www.animalbehavior.org/ABSAppliedBehavior/caab-directory http://www.certifiedanimalbehaviorist.com/page3.html If you are looking for humane training not a behaviorist truly dog friendly will work. http://www.trulydogfriendly.com/blog/?page\_id=2 Snf

http://www.dogpro.org - You can search for professionals in your area through this website. You may also want to look into doggie daycares in your area and ask if they have a behaviorist on site.

Hey SnF!! Thanks for the leads!! thanks for the suggestion, romi. Dogpro brings no behaviorist in my area closer than Philly and the only Doggy Daycare that is reputable uses the aforementioned behaviorist on site. Ugh. Back to the search!

Well, I dunno that this will be much help, but Jen and I found our behaviorist via another good behaviorist. So maybe contact a good behaviorist [like Romi's] and see if they know of anyone in your area - that is how we found Dani. There are really very few certified behaviorists, so I think they tend to know each other. ----
