They rolled out the Nihon Ken of the future back in 1999; and discontinued it in 2006: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIBO It’s like Dr. Frank always says,the future ain’t what it used to be. ;0)

Nice one Diggah! In academics, the Aibo is almost universally hated because it is flakey and incredibly difficult to work with but is a must for those interested in competing in robocup.
