As a result to silly misunderstandings and my roommate losing her mind, me and Errik got kicked out of the house. We're in a motel for the week and we actually got approved for an apartment that's ready to be moved in on Sunday. We wont get internet till my tax return comes in. We're on Motel 6's wireless right now. I went to her the day before because she had a problem communicating and I told her that she could come talk to me. Apparently that meant I'm yelling at her because she saw me in my pjs (long tshirt, no pants). She's nuts and we're glad we're out of there. ## brada1878 (admin) · 2008-02-20T00:36:49.000Z wow - that does suck, hope all turns out ok! ## Romi (admin) · 2008-02-20T01:45:55.000Z Technically, she can't kick you out.  If you wanted to get crazy and take her to court, most judges are always more favorable to the tenants and not the landlords.  I had a problem with a roommate before, and it got kind of serious so I read up a lot on tenant/landlord cases.  Luckily, I made a contract to cover almost everything and anything so he really had no options.  I ended up holding his belongings as a collateral for the rent and charged him DAILY for storage.  His mother finally came out and paid all the late payments and storage fee's and took his stuff.  I think its more risky for a landlord than a tenant though, so I made sure to take all the extra precautions.  But she really had no right to kick you out without any kind of notice. ## okiron · 2008-02-20T02:14:01.000Z And if you wanna get technical, she's not on any lease, any bills, no paperwork whatsoever that says she lives there so she can't say anything. (Her boyfriend is the tenant) But she is the type that would mess with my stuff and animals when I wasn't home so it was better for us to leave rather than fight it. It hurts us financially short term wise but long term wise, I think we're better off. And the cats could have an entire apartment instead of one room, I'm sure they'll enjoy it. I'm glad you are all ok too. That sounds like a lot of drama. For the first time in my life I have a roommate who my biggest gripes with are the thermostat and loading of the dish washer. I've had my share of crappy ones, but that sounds like it tops all of my stories.
