I prefer to not know what it is at first, so I don't have a preconception of what it should taste like. Once he found out what we were buying them for, he asked us to only come when the feet he had became gamey, so we turned to hare-today.com instead. The dogs love them, but I was playing with them (the feet) one night and started to move the claws by pulling on the ligaments... so freaky! But interesting.... Don't they look a tad like human digits when raw??? I feed the chicken necks and turkey necks Boo loves them. The turkey necks might be a bit big for a shiba though. I feed them frozen because they are allot cleaner that way, and Boo thinks there like a popsicle! I think the benefit is more for their teeth. Crunchy raw foods do wonder's for a dogs teeth & breath. While these products are available through health-food stores or a pharmaceutical medication through your veterinarian, you can give these to your dog directly by giving raw cartilage. Some people taught the benefits of shark cartilage, but there are no scientific studies to support these claims. (It is also ecologically unsound to kill sharks to harvest their cartilage.) On the other hand, increase dietary cartilage can do no harm, particularly in the face of arthritis." I sought these out specifically for my Tsuki as a natural way to give her added glucosamine/chondroitin for her LP, plus like Sabrina said, because they have to crunch the feet and tear the skin, its also healthy for their teeth and minds. An all around good treat, if you can get past the point that they look like golum-esq people hands!! My dogs teeth are the brightest white that I've ever seen on a dog! Raw definitely works! ## tsukitsune (moderator) · 2008-12-29T21:35:20.000Z i also give chicken necks raw even with the teeny bones, the turkey necks are doable but more often they (shibas) do not finish them entire because they are larger than chicken necks... the chix necks have such smaller bones, I'd rather they chomp the turkey necks! ## lindsayt · 2008-12-30T08:19:57.000Z I did turkey necks for a while when I was on my raw kick.
