Awww Kimi is cute! I kinda like that color better than the whites! Does this color happen with alot with the Kishus?

I didn't know Kishu came in anything but white.  Beautiful picture.

Wow! I Kishu Owner! Welcome to the forum!

It's interesting that your Kishu is sesame, that is very rare! Did you get her in Japan? Amazing that the one Kishu owner on the forum has one of the rarest of all the Kishu colors - very cool!

Welcome to the pack!

How much does Kimi weigh and how tall is she? I'm interested in comparing her size to our Shikoku.

We HAVE to know more about this beauty! Welcome.

Well, I guess I should answer some questions.  Yes, the color is rare for this breed.  I got her from a friend of the family.  I took her in because I was looking for a dog and she was the last in her litter.  My guess is because she was not white or she could have been the runt.  Both her parents are white, as well as her grandparents.

She is about 40 lbs.  Just below knee high.  She's my cutie baby (and I don't usually use those words), but she works for all her food (helps with the bonding and training).  Trust me, it was a battle of the wills.  But anyway, people think she's a german shepard or akita or wolf hybrid puppy.

Hey! Here's a Thought.... I don't mean to put you on the spot, or to apply any pressure on you, but have you considered adopting Ishi?

I ask because you have a female that would have a similar play-style and similar breed characteristics, and you seem to know your stuff when it comes to dogs. You also have a Kishu, so you understand primitive breeds....

I mean I was just sitting here thinking about Ishi and I realized how cool it would be to have a Shikoku and a Kishu! Anyway, not sure where you are in life and if you even would consider another dog, but if you have ever thought about it.... Well, you and Kimi might be a great fit for Mr. Ishi.

Wow, what a gorgeous dog! Much better than the whites in my opinion. Kinda makes me wish I could find a sesame Kishu. My german pinscher Sasha also loves going hiking with me, as well as agility.
