# suggestions on how to upload a profile pic

I am having trouble putting a picture to my accout it is not showing up when I paste the link any reason why? How did everyone get a picture uploaded if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Are you using photobucket, flickr, etc? On the icon, you don't need the HTML code, just the url address. Also make sure the photo is sized pretty small or just a small piece will appear.

i was taking it off of facebook and my myspace account the url but it didnt work there is a place in my account that a picture uploaded but it is just gray background

Could be a size issue. The profile pic and your icon need to be resized according to what the forum software needs. I think the icon is 30x30 pixels and the profile pic is 200xsomething IIRC.

Facebook and myspace blocks that type of linking due to security. I would attach it to a post [try it in this post], use the attach option at the bottom of the post field... once posted/attached you will see the image in the post, you can right click on the image and get the URL - use that URL for your profile pic. Example:

the URL for that image I just posted is: http://www.nihonken.org/forum/?PostBackAction=Download&AttachmentID=906 so I could use that in my profile... but as Dave just pointed out the images are re-sized and cropped to the correct size. ---- Another option is just post the image you want and I can do it for you - I have done this for a few members. ----
