# Shelter/Sanctuary/Hoarder SHUT DOWN in Wisconsin!!!! Well things were bad there, really bad. The HSUS had been working with DCHS to get this woman shutdown and yesterday it happened. Through a court order the Sheriff of the county was able to search and seize the animals on the property. The Sheriff signed the rights of the dogs over to the HSUS and they signed them over to DCHS. It's going to be a huge project to get all of these dogs sorted out but I am so happy they are all getting out of that hell hole and she is shut down, for now at least. Hopefully they will be able to charge her with many things and keep her from setting up anything like this again, hell from owning an animal again. Anyhow, they had told us that there was going to be a training session going on in the back parking lot at DCHS, but when I saw the ASPCA CSI van at our location on Sunday I was wondering what was going on, turns out they had to lie to us (volunteers) for a bit so word did not get out about what was happening. I'm certain that's what they are see link for photos - should be 2nd pic Yeah, some people are meaning to do the "right thing", but don't always go about it the proper way. 300+ animals is way too many to go about taking care of by oneself. She should have realized this and immediately ask for help. I think people like this don't intentionally mean to do harm, they are just short of a few sandwhiches in their picnic basket, as my past high school English teacher use to say. I hope there will be many people to help out with those horses. And that the canines who were taken off property will be adopted soon and be properly cared for in their new home. Maybe the horses and exotics have to remain on the property until a proper re-location has been found? It seems she isn't even allowed back on her property anyways. So there should be people there taking care of the remaining animals until relocation can take place. They have now taken a total of 315 dogs from the property. I asked the director of DCHS if she knew what was to happen with the other animals, and if she could share that information yet. ## brandon_w (admin) · 2009-05-21T16:42:07.000Z E-mail I just recieved from the Director: "We took into the shelter yesterday 21 rabbits, 2 chinchillas, 1 cat, 1 ferret, 1 rooster, and 14 birds. We also have 10 horses in foster care. There are still more horses and livestock on the property and there is a team out there today trying to capture them." So all animals are being removed from the property. I know that she did not like cats, so she rarely took them in. From what I heard, when she did take them in she just threw them into a shed with food scattered on the floor, which also became their litter box because they needed something to bury it in.
