Beautiful doggies! My daughter is going to Japan for a couple weeks. Is she likely to see these Japanese breeds (like yours, Kai Ken and others) while she's over there? I have the impression from the many posts throughout this forum that many of the breeds discussed here are rare in Japan, too. Anyway, I have told her to keep her camera ready and aimed!

Thanks Jen! As for the Japanese breeds being common, I don't recall seeing very many dogs while I was in Japan. In the cities, space is really tight (especially Tokyo) so if you do see a dog, it would tend to be a Shiba due to their size (they are the most popular dog in Japan, I think). When you get out into the country, you may start seeing more dogs, but the Hokkaido, Kai, Shikoku, and Kishu are all very rare in Japan as well so the odds of seeing them are pretty low.

Looks like calm is restored at the tsukitsune house. Good to see!

they do seem happier, and better adjusted than they have ever been to this point.

They're very cute! And if they're getting more and more well adjusted, that can only be good news. Keep on the good work!

Dave: Thanks for the comments about prevalence of dogs in Japan. I'll pass on to my daughter. She is an animal lover and always on the lookout, so will see what she reports back. I know she and her friends plan to travel out of Tokyo to some of the smaller places, so maybe she will be in luck!

I love pictures of dogs falling out of their beds when sleeping. These two are a very happy pair.
