# Got our new shiba!

Ok, wife and I got our new shiba pup, Noche. Ok, wife and I got our new shiba pup, Noche. We were going to adopt, but we felt that Sol and Luna would take better to a pup than an older adoptee (there are very few shibas in my area at adoption centers, much less pups). Here is the issue, we took our shibas with us when we got Noche..they were ok, but when we got home we noticed that Luna has become a little standoffish (she is usually the VERY social one at dog parks), and Sol ,who usually is the one to stay away from other dogs, seems to be the one who is aproaching him more, the poor pup wants to play, and he found a new friend in the mirror, hehe. Any recomendations on how to make the intergration of the new pup into the home smoother? thanks heres a pic of Noche

Very Cute Noche! Transition will take time for the pups Im sure. It took Miso about 3 weeks to get used to Sake and her crazy puppy play.

Congrats! Noche is adorable! I agree with Kristin, introducing a new dog in your home will take time for everyone. If you get a chance, you should take a look at the sticky thread "introducing new dogs and living in a multi-dog household"

I second Romi's advice. That thread is a very thorough description of how best to integrate a new dog into your pack. Take things VERY slowly. Not toys or treats for the first few days until things settle down a bit. And make sure they are constantly supervised when together.

Congrats on your new pup!

You are going to need to take a lot of clues from the dogs on how to do this. Read the thread and keep coming to us! Noche is adorable!

Aww! He is super adorable! Can I turn back time and turn Bella and Nola back into itty bitty puppies? Congrats on your new addition!

cute! congrats on the addition! you've gotten great advice about integration. Don't expect a great deal for the first couple days, weeks - keep their interaction moderate and safe - the dogs will give you an idea of their comfort level with one another as the days go by. enjoy and take (and share!) lots o'spam!
