Here's an interesting phenomenon I encountered during lunch yesterday. I went home, dressed down, and started working with Ichi to get him more agreeable to me putting on his harness and leash instead of running away. Show harness, get a piece of chicken, put on harness, get a piece of chicken, attach leash, get a piece of chicken, etc. So off we go for a potty break and a short walk. I hooked him on a 20' lead so I could also work on some clicker training on potty (never hurts to re-inforce it), and the "come" command (a.k.a. The Holy Grail of Shiba Inu commands). Anyways, things were going smoothly and I was about to start Ichibi on his walk around the apartment when a few women squealed and started approaching me (thankfully not going after the dog). Ichi was about 18ft away, so as they started asking me questions, I ordered him to come (he came running because he loves his chicken), clicked and treated. Smart little bugger made sure he came and sat on the other side of me so I blocked him from the women. They asked the common questions, "What breed is that,? How big do they get? Oh he's so adorable I just love him! (praying they don't say the breed would be perfect for them)" After a while, they asked me, "Are you a trainer?" Me: "ummm...no." (still smiling) Woman: "Oh...so...that's your dog?" Me: "yup." Woman: "Oh...well your dog is gorgeous, thank you!" I guess donned in my jogging pants and treat bag with clicker, they thought I was a trainer instead of a responsible dog owner attempting to train his own dog. BTW, Ichibi's spending his time at Wags and Wiggles Doggie Daycare today (thanks Romi). If you hit on "Camera Select" and look at Small Dog room 1 or 2, hopefully we'll see him. http://wagsnwiggles2.viewmydog.com/lanmpegview0.htm Jesse

I see Ichi! He's x-penned off from the group but at least he isn't hiding!

Hey Jesse! I don't see Ichi...but I do see something small hiding in a corner by itself...would that be him?

Ah - ok I thought that was him...

I think Lysa took him into her office for a bit because he was indeed gone for the better part of this morning. I'm fighting the urge to go visit during my lunchbreak. Jesse

Bahaha! Walrus would get a kick out of this. Kristin, "Go Strawberry! Strawberry!" :P Though, Ichi was *this* close to being named "Ichigo" (strawberry) instead of "Ichibi" Jesse
