It's cold and dry here, so we're all a bit itchy, but I'm getting worried. How long does your Shikoku take to shed their undercoat? Does the remaining coat seem a bit thin?

He's getting a high quality fish oil w/ vit E, and balanced, cooked meals.

He did have surgery, and I know that anesthesia makes dogs drop coat, so it may just be a combo thing, but the little guy looks awful and I know he's got to feel worse than he looks.

Michelle, Tenji takes about 4 to 6 weeks to complete his shedding and he looks pretty ratty in the process. Sorry to hear about the bald spot and bleeding. He should be fine as you are doing all the right things regarding his fish oil and diet.

FWIW, Joey is dropping his coats in buckets too right now. We're also in Atlanta. He hasn't been scratching though.
