# Aiko needs a little brother

Hello all! We are looking to get a boy shiba sometime the end of this year. However I notice whenever my sister brings her female dog Maya, she gets agressive when Maya enters into an "Aiko zone." what can I do now to change her behavior so I can prepare for a new puppy's arrival? I have heard that same sex dogs are generally more aggressive to each other. You can try having them meet at a neutral area first before bring Maya into "Aiko zone."

heard the same thing too abt same sex dogs and aggression. so when we went to get sachi, we took nikki along too. had them met at a neutral ground, theres no aggression issue with them so far though, alls good.

Yes, please do define aggressive. Dogs that are 'only children' tend to be more dog reactive when a new dog enters their territory, especially if the only child dog doesn't get to socialize that often.
