# Met a shikoku fan! I have never had someone properly identify Ahi, the closes I think I have heard is Akita or Shiba (when she was a pup)... but I dunno that I would really consider either of those "close". ---- Brandon - A Dingo? I would say less then 10% of people I meet know he is a shiba. Everyone I come across know of Shiba Inu, I think it strange for somebody not to know Shiba. The park this weekend a few people said "So THATS a shiba!" ## Evan · 2007-12-14T14:41:17.000Z There is a dog near my house that looks almost exactly like a Shikoku, but I asked and the owner said it she was a Shepherd Chow mix, Now being non confrontational i just simply smiled and complemented its good looks, but seeing as how this dog was 20 or so inches high, with reddish wolf colorings and a curled tail, I don't see how it could be a shepherd/chow mix since it is over the age of 2. ## MommyofNiko · 2007-12-14T18:29:51.000Z Every owner of their dog knows best.  How silly of you to make a suggestion!
