I thought shibas were tidy as it was, but wow. Ike just got done pooing and while getting the shovel, I saw him ran back to the poo to investigate his handy work. I thought he might try to eat it at first so I was about to shoo him away, but to my utter amazement, he began using his nose to cover it with leaves. He completely buried it in a neat little pile, totally covered and hidden, by the time I walked over there. He was very proud of himself. Has anyone else noticed this before? I am shocked.

Yay Ike!!! Maybe that's why he was going in the bushes? He just likes to hide it like a kitty.

ah.. the poo covering. Once, Ryu pooed on the bathroom floor, shredded up a brand-new roll of toilet paper he found on the counter and placed the shreds neatly on top of his poo pile. they are amazing, aren't they?

Evan, he was actually looking for the Johnny Cat screen, but the bushes were handy so he had to make doo.

Yep my past female did this too outside so you are not imagining it! The only accident she ever had in the house she pooped on newspaper and pushed that behind the nearest object which was the the trash can in the farthest corner. She was quite picky all her life about where she would go to do her business.

Some are VERY tidy. If the Shiba puppy was raised in a very clean environment and is kept out of mess they will tend to be much much more tidy and easy to potty train when it goes to a new home .

That's too funny! I noticed my jindo, Tsuki, doing that before, but never my Shibas. One of my Shibas and my Jindo cover their uneaten rawhides or Greenies with "invisible" leaves as well - making the motion of covering them with something using their nose. I'm not sure who they think they are fooling, It's so cute. My Shiba would do that and then sit there gaurding it...dead give-away that their was something priceless there. I would never have known anything was there if it weren't for her standing over it and growling when we came close.

Nemo doesn't cover, he just runs. He's screaming "THAT'S POOP! LETS GO! STOP TRYING TO PICK IT UP, ASS!"

Kitsu gets a little bothered when he's about to drop some then tries to cover it if its in the yard but on walks he just walks away from it. Tsuki will do it, try to run full speed away on walks but in the yard she (backwardly) kicks leaves on top of it, not as neat as Ike, but as effective.

haha thats funny. too bad my shiba doesnt do that. in fact i would argue that my hiba isnt too concerned with being clean. she rolls in mud and loves to dig =/
