I ordered a harnes that should be here anyday so we'll try again. Good thing my back yard is completely fenced in or we would have never caught him......he's fast.....lol Steve ## maxwells · 2009-03-16T12:17:21.000Z Steve – when we first got Ichiro last January (also, one of the COLDEST Januarys I have ever experienced!) we had to walk him up and down the back service corridor for our condo building to get him used to a leash. Every single step was just like that illustration. I do not envy that phase! I have a pup sized harness for Indy and I'd like to start him as soon as I can. They got used to them so now we have no problems. I also let them drag their leashes around at first so they didn't care about them either. Makes life so much easier! Although Sake really enjoys "naked" time and when I try and put her harness back on her, she does the dead dog flop. ## Oliversdad · 2009-03-16T12:53:04.000Z We have Oliver a week, he is an older pup at 7 months now. We put the collar on him for the first time on Saturday.....he seemed to be feeling bad for himself....lol. But by the afternoon he was over it. He loves to run in the yard and hasn't had any mistakes in the house since we started the yard on a consistant basis. I tried to let him run around in the house with the leash but he kept stepping on it and jerking his head....he didn't like that either. Once outside with the leash he was just like the cartoon until the collar was off. Do any of your Shibas act coy when you try to put the harness/collar on? Triton and Sadie don't mind the harness at all, but they both act coy and run when I try to put it on. She walks around doing a shiba shake anytime she gets near someone. Poor, poor Jazz. :-P Both of my gals dash for the front door if I even pull the harnesses out of the cabinet. (Harnesses mean car rides!!!) I have to constantly tell them 'not yet' to get them to come back up the steps to put their harnesses on.
