# FCI Standard: "Abrupt Stop"

What do you think an "Abrupt Stop" looks like? ----

All I can think of is "stopping short" from Seinfeld. So that's not much help.

I miss Seinfeld. :o( I ask because that is the description for a Shikoku and Kai and I was just trying to figure out what exactly that means. The Akita one is "Deep Stop" which I think is pretty clear. Maybe an "Abrupt Stop" is an unexpected stop - so their head looks like it wouldn't have a stop but it does???? ----

Does any of this help? Stop The skeletal junction on the skull's foreface between the back of the muzzle and the beginning of the topskull. Collies and Afghans have very little "stop" and Chihuahuas, Labrador Retrievers, and St. Bernards have a great deal of "stop." HEAD The head is proportionate to the size of the body. When viewed from the side, the skull and muzzle are of equal length and joined by a moderate stop. Viewed from the front and the side, the Rat Terrier’s head forms a blunt wedge shape. Fault: Abrupt stop. Moderate: Being within reasonable limits; not excessive or extreme (loosely translated medium approx. 45 degree angle for stop) Blunt: Having a dull edge or end; not sharp Wedge Shaped: Having the shape of a wedge
