# West Siberian Laika

They are slightly bigger than a Shikoku... like 50lb. Apparently pretty tenacious dogs... used to hunt bear, reindeer, and moose. There are some rather disturbing, yet pretty interesting hunting pictures of them. (I would post but it may offend Jessica's veganness )

They're tenacious alright! And nice looking too.

But still kind of peaceful if you compare them to a Karelian Bear Dog, which  is closely related to Laikas.

I think it's pretty much a fact that dogs from Siberia are second only to dogs from Japan.

Yes, they really do look like shikoku's. Slightly different facial features and longer ears. Colorations are similar. To me they kind of look like a cross between a Siberian Husky and a Shikoku.

I agree, they look a lot like Shikoku but slightly different... they have longer noses too. I think Brandon is right tho, Siberian dogs are almost as cool as Japanese dogs.
