Has anyone read this book called Dog Man by Martha Sherril?

It is the story of one man's pursuit to save the Akita breed in Japan during World War II. It really makes you fall in love with the akita breed.

I have not read it, but I have heard it was very good. It's on my list of books to read.

Im reading it now, pretty good so far BUT she changed the name of the dogs! She translated the dogs names into english! :/

I've read this book, it's excellent. Lot of hystory about Akita Inu in Japan, evoluting of linees etc... It's a book about a japanese breeder (Mister Morie) , his life with their Akita.
