# Meal alternative help!

Here is my dilemma: I forgot Sasuke's food in Tampa and the only place in town that sells Ori-jen is closed! What can I feed Sasuke tonight that won't give him diarrhea but still be healthy? I do have some chicken, salmon, and rice that I can steam. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance.

Steam the fish and give him that with rice. He should be fine and he will enjoy his special dinner!

Looks like I'm out of white rice O.o Is brown rice okay? What ingredients should I avoid? I know garlic and onions are not healthy for dogs... any other ingredients I should be concerned with?

Just the fish then, he will be fine with a smaller meal for the night. I would just steam the fish plain.

Ok, I've got a stupid question and dont want to start a new thread! lol Are the bones in the fish not a concern? I've been wondering about that.

Good question. My fish are fillets so no problems there. I would imagine that wolves can digest it soo... O.o

They can digest uncooked bones, but if you were cooking them I would make sure there was no bones.

You can feed the fish raw bones and all. No need to cook it.

Wow.Thanks guys. I think I might just have to give this a try on Honey! I'm sure she'd love it! Do your pups have a "fav" fish? Or what fish do you prefer to feed them? I'm not a big fish eater....so I wouldnt' know where to begin!

Salmon would only be a last resort fish, it has some type of enzyme that some dogs don't agree with plus it is expensive so if anyone is eating salmon here it's me. I usually feed whatever is on sale the cheapest, whole. Talapia at the chinese markets is really cheap. Sometimes whol trout are a bargin. I will bet you will see fantastic coat condition if you feed whole fish.
