Hey eveyone.....I was looking through what I have on photobucket and came across some cute videos! lol Hope you enjoy them! Here's Honey at the dog park. These others are Honey rolling around after she played in the water hose! hahaha She LOVES to chase the spray and chomp on it! hahah (And yes, we are VERY careful with having Honey in the yard off leash. :D) (Please ignore all the JUNK on my deck....we were having a "cleaning" day and we were going through everything we were getting rid of. Like the trampoline net that is on the ground! HAHAH)

Too funny! She has matured a lot too.

Is she in heat in the last video? She looks like she might be ....

Nope. She went into heat several months back. And since I'm new to this.......what made you ask? How does "in heat" look?

## StaticNfuzz · 2009-05-06T16:56:46.000Z
Shibas can fool you on their cycles. It should be every 6 months but it can be less than that. With younger dogs it isn't exact always. Usually females look a bit darker and somewhat puffy. But it can come on gradually. They keep themselves pretty clean so sometimes there isn't much indication other than the darker color and swelling. She looks like she has some darker staining so that's why I asked. Sometimes there are also silent heats where they barely show they are in heat at all. If she is in the front yard loose make sure you do not have unwanted guests. Breeding can happen pretty quickly and you may have no idea if they sneak off to the side, under a bush etc if you are busy. They are not always noisy either in coupling.

Keep an eye on her for flagging.

PS: I would look for a program to help with supplementing spay costs and get her spayed earlier in life. It's easier all the way around not to have to worry about it. Here is a link, I am providing it in case anyone needs it as a a resource in general for your area.....http://community.carr.org/fullrecord.asp?record=999

Thanks for the link! I'll pass it on to a friend of mine who just adopted a pup! It might come in handy for her!

Katie, I want to add a correction....I thought you were in a different area....my apologies....I don't have a full set of resources for OH. In that case you will have to search a bit. I am sure there are some reasonably priced clinics. Some of them are supplemented by county or state.
