Ronan says hello

He's still doing great. I was watching him out in the yard the other day and realized that his face has gotten fuller. Sigh. That little fuzz ball who used to steal my slippers is all grown up now. Hard to believe he just turned 20 months old the other day.

Hope everyone is well. I'm still working full time, still writing (the third book), and now have my mother-in-law living with us. Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

The pack is good - and big!

Did you hear about Ahi's Luxating Patella surgery?

Hey Michelle!!! Long time! Glad you stopped by. Its great to hear your pups are doing well...please update us with some pics!!! Also, we started an "Article" section of the forum to help members with some common issues. If you have a moment, it would be great to get your input from a writer's point of view!

Ahi had surgery? No! I didn't hear. What happened? How is she? Poor Ahi!

I'll try to stop by the article section, and I do hope to have some updated pics of the Mutley Duo soon ;-)

Ronan's fictional alter ego has become an official character in my latest book. 'Devlin' is pretty hilarious, but then, I have the best living character to draw from.

Brad - whoa. You have ANOTHER Akita? You know how I love my Akitas. So, seven dogs? Two are Akitas and everyone gets along just fine? Have you started your own dog training business? LOL!

Yea, Ahi had to have both her knees fixed... she had Luxating Patella in both! I think she may be the first [known] case of a Shikoku-Ken w/ Luxating Patella in North America. :o(

She is recovering nicely from her second surgery, she had it just over a week ago... it really sux for her - you know how crazy she is.

    ----

Yep, we have another Akita, female, named Lani... she is super sweet - imported from Poland.

    ----

so far all our pups get a long GREAT, but they are young and I'm sure things will change over time.

    ----

Have you had any of your books published?

None are published - yet. I have the first book out with 2 agents right now, so keep your fingers crossed. I'm frantically trying to finish this one before the end of August.

Both knees? How did you know she had a problem? How the heck are you keeping her calm enough to heal? I hear that's really tough.

When did you get the 2nd Akita? And from Poland? You have to tell me more about her. She's really gorgeous.

I saw on Katja's site that she's not keeping Ishi, Ahi's dad. ????

Cool! I will keep my fingers crossed on your books being published... that would be really great! I know you have been working so hard on them for so long!

    ----

Yep, both knees... she started limping around 8 months but no vets thought it was her Patella. Once we moved out here and she was more active it just rapidly got worse... To the point that she didn't want to go on walks [which is unheard of for Ahi].

We keep her in a big crate by the window, in a kennel outside, or in the office with me... it really sux. She complains constantly... it's heart breaking, but she will be good as new in a few months!

She will probably eat us in our sleep when she is finally free. :o\

    ----

We got Lani a month ago from a breeder I have been communicating with for years.

    ----

Yep! Katja has to place Ishi, Ahi's dad... there is a post about it somewhere....

    here: post
