Happy Father's Day!! It was a great day, albeit VERY hard work with the cleaning and the cooking.
On the menu: Hor d'oeuvre - Spinach and Gruyeres wrapped in Phyllo Dough First Course - Lobster Ravioli with Vodka Sauce Main Course - Garlic and Herb Crusted Standing Rib Roast Side - Caramelized Carrots
Not too difficult, but a good bit of prep and I was standing for quite some time!!!! Anyone else cook today? LOVE getting menu ideas.
Just did some grilling for dad in law. Had ribs, corn and the normal picnic sides. For fun we had a crepe maker and made some for dessert adding in fresh strawberries and raspberries with whipped cream or ice cream for the kids. What a mess but everyone had a blast making/filling their own stuff.
My dad cooked. He likes to cook, even on his day. We had tenderloin wrapped in bacon and grilled, with a mushroom sauce and twice baked potatoes. I also brought a leaf lettuce, arugula, pomegranate seed, and almond salad with a lemon vinaigrette and a loaf of "Spicy Cheese Bread" from a local baker that my Dad loves. Peach cobbler and ice cream for dessert.
