Great videos. Loa is really expressing her personality now. And Kona is becoming a real buff boy. It's so nice of you and Jen to have such different colored dogs, so that when we watch your videos it's easy to tell who is who!
I love it when Kona gets faked out by Loa, its funny. After that, he runs in the house and gets all crazy with Loa - you can see she doesn't love it so she gets a little flustered then redirects that to Lani. I faded the video out there because Lani and Lao have a "moment".
Kona and Loa can play pretty rough sometimes, in that second clip Kona is like just being all caveman on her... dragging her around and using his weight to holder her down. It looks really rough [and it probably is] but I promise Loa does WAY MORE of the rough play than Kona. Kona usually has Fuji attached to one ear and Loa attached to the other.
Our shibas play pretty rough like that, I never wanted to post a video of it in case someone hasn't experienced it and gets uppity but at the dog park or play groups, tsuki will teRRorize kitsune, pulling him around by his neck scruff and gurgling (like a growl, but in play) and nipping and whining and semi-shiba screaming (the battle cry) and on-lookers with their other dogs are always a little hesitant to come near or let their lab join in, but its really just play. They both had little nicks here and there on their muzzles and paws and foreheads. Rough, rough play. But if Kitsune's had enough, he'll yip and Tsuki lets go. Just like that.
After you experience a fight or a tense moment, you can tell distinct differences.
haha I love how in the first video they were all crazy hyper when they were playing then they both just stop & start looking around. Loa really camouflages herself well when she laid down towards the end...
I like watching your videos Brad as I can see most of my favorite dogs breeds all interacting together ~
Thanks for sharing the videos! I love to observe how the dogs will "entice" one another into running, body contact, etc. Josephine is very rough with other dogs, too ---- alpha female, I think! The dogs look like they are truly enjoying one another -- fun to see!
The yard is looking good, too. I see some rock borders, looks like a new tree, etc.
Bev - you are right, we have planted some trees, grass, sage, and flowers. We also started our rock border tho we ran out of rock. Its been a slow process and most everything we plant dies here, but we keep trying and we find things that work slowly. Thanx!
lol - Jen we have so much sage its ridiculous. I can send you some we removed from our property... also burning sage is a big deal here, so if you truly interested I can get all kinds at the local markets. I don't mind getting you some if you like.
well we smudge with white sage but I'm sure I can find uses for any sort of sage. our climate is not ideal for sage, the sage we've tried to plant is so finicky and doesn't last long enough to harvest!
Honestly I have no idea when the best time to harvest it is. Sage grows naturally out here. The Pueblo Natives make smudge sticks and sell them in the local markets. That is what I was referring to, I dunno how easily you can get that type of thing where you are so I can buy some and ship it to you if you like. You can pay me back or whatever. They have lots of types, so I would have to check that out and get you a list so you can choose what types.

It's cute how they get along so well.
Kona plays pretty rough in that second video he was really tugging on Loa's neck. They seem to have a lot of fun.
