Puppy play hour
Keiko went to her first puppy play hour this morning (well technically she went to 'small dog socialization hour'... but kinda the same thing). She met her new friend ... at least I decided he was her new friend. His name is Bear and he's 3 days older than her and he's also a black and tan Shiba!!! We got there and she sniffed the other dogs and got all excited, but nothing out of the ordinary... as SOON as she and Bear saw each other they were 'talking' across the room - everyone stopped to see because it was pretty much THE cutest thing in the world!!! I wish I wasn't laughing so hard because I would have loved to catch it on tape!
Hopefully next week I'll get some good pictures/video of the small dog social hour. There was a lil terrier (aka terror) that wouldn't leave poor Keiko alone. Most of the other dogs were great, but he had her yipping a 'help me!' lil yip... although James will say I was being over-protective, I finally stepped in and the instructor chick helped keep them separated.
It was so fun to see how nicely she interacted with all the other dogs and people... if someone was low enough to the ground she would just crawl in their lap and sit there like 'OMG I'm SO cute, pet me now!!!" I had a great morning of laughing.
Side note - we finally got an exercise pen for outside and she loves it... she FINALLY peed outside for the very first time. It was such a breakthrough I nearly did a happy dance!!!
