N.K.A.A. [ Nihon Ken Addicts Anonymous ]
*stands up*
Hi everybody! My name is Osy, & I confess I am a Nihon Ken Addict.
Ever since I discovered the Nihon Ken I spend hours just researching & looking at pictures of Nihon Ken every day, & when I'm not doing that I spend time here on the forum or working on my own Nihon Ken website. I am not ashamed to admit my social life has been dissolving ever since I discovered the Nihon Ken! My current aspirations in life are to 1. Own a Shikoku / Kai / Shiba & 2. Get promoted at work so that I can buy a farm & own 300 Shikoku / Kai / Shiba. :O
I know there are other Nihon Ken Addicts out there, so feel free to share! Thank You for Listening.

Yeah.
Once i'm out of college ... i'll buy a 2nd one, then a 3rd, and so on. My parents will eventually kick me out of the house and make me live at my own house. ;; I wish I could have my grandma's house. lol. Her yard fenced in would = amazing yard space.
mmm. I really want Shikoku, Akita and Hokkaido. :O Definitely.
aww. I gonna miss Toby when I go away to college. I hope he'll be alright. Least he'll shower me with love for more than 5 seconds when I come home.
Gotta make up for all that time away.

In about a week and a half I get to visit Katja and learn about Shibas and Shikoku first hand.
BTW, don't feel about about spending all your time on the forum, we all do it. I check the form more frequently than I check my email. :-/
You see, Dave, I thought it was an obsession at first! But I too have come to discover that this severe of an obsession can only be deemed an addiction ;p
Alex, I do the same thing! haha~
ME! Our lives will always be shared with a Nihon Ken. On a list for an Akita, but not sure when we will get him with the baby. I think we will always have at least one shiba. Also on the list...a Kai and I would kill for one of Loa's pups!

The first, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin was made in the 80s. Its the story of a Tora-Ge Akita pup named Gin who is trained by two people, and then he discovers wild dogs and runs off with the pack and joins. Later on he meets the leader, and then that is the Silver Fang Legend; to beat the human killing bear Akakabuto. Gin and his father are referred to being Bear Hounds a million times in both series! But not just any Akita, only the Tora-Ge!
And then it was followed up with the sequel, Ginga Densetsu Weed ( made back in 2005 ), which is the story continuing with Gin's son named Weed, who is also a Tora-Ge Akita. And then a tough Great Dane named Hougen and his brother Genba try to take over paradise at Gajou ( where Akakabuto was slayed ).
Obviously I won't go into detail too much about it, if people want to look into it. You can see the episodes on youTube. Or you can search for the Anime Suxeden website, the people who subbed the episodes and download them. Every episode is in Japanese, with subtitles.
I've watched these series soo many times. I love them!
This is the opening to Ginga Densetsu Weed. I love it soo much. You can tell the Japanese love their dogs enough to make an Anime about them!
Just from the opening, theres a Kishu, Kai, and of course Weed, the Tora Ge Akita.
all i have to say is that I too check this forum more than my email, hell - if I only have 3 minutes to sign on, I do then if there is time i check my email... so sad.
and if committing oneself to a shiba inu sanctuary even though her entire family expects a baby is obsession, then I too am pretty far into it.
: D
One of these days, when I have lots of land and more time than I do now, I hope to have a pack as big as Brad's!
And Jen, I know the feeling. When we were told about Nola's litter being born, I called my mom and told her our family was growing and she got all excited because she thought we were having a 'human' baby. She was a bit disappointed to hear we were getting another pup... Until she met Nola of course, now she is thrilled!
