"Columbine-Hondo Trail" - Hiking Spam
We hiked the Columbine-Hondo Trail today [again]. We wanted to do the whole trail [12 miles] but ended up doing only half because it got kinda hot for the dogs [and us].
This time we only took Ahi and Kona [if you remember last time Hilo went too and barked at everyone]. We didn't take Hilo this time because it's a rather technical trail at times and he just not sure-footed enough to comfortably hike.
Kona, of course, carried his pack with our water in it. Ahi didn't because she is still healing from her front foot issue - whatever it was.
This hike went really well, we saw a lot of off-lead dogs but the all the owners were great and pulled their dogs of the trail. It was refreshing to see some polite dog owners for once.

Thanks for sharing.
That picture of Kona on the rock (log?) is great - it's like "I'm the champion of this rock!!!"
Very nice )
You know, even if I could trust my dog off lead 100% I don't think I'd ever let him off lead in the woods. ~
And what a beautiful trail. How far is that from your house?
