Visit to Grandma's house
Well I finally had a day off! So we decided to take a day trip to Grandma's house with Mylie. We stopped at the local Pet Smart on the way down to pick up a new bag of food for the baby. She had a blast meeting all sorts of other dogs, and was fascinated by the cats from the local SPCA awaiting adoption. One of the store clerks runs up to us on our way out, "OMG! IS THAT A SHIBA INU?!?" So Mylie made a new friend with the clerk who adored her, then we headed out to grandma's.
Now, grandma has 3 cats, one of them (Piper) is scared to death of Mylie; Bastain is 18 years old and could care less but seemed slightly annoyed at the pup running around his house. G, on the other hand, who is 16 years old, HATES Mylie & attacked her once when she was about 3 months old. SO we made sure G was outside while Mylie roamed the house. She was so good, so well behaved, I was proud of her.
So we head out on the deck, share some Ice Tea's and let Mylie roam free for a few hours. Grandpa then decides he wants to do some target practice with his new rifle in the woods behind the back yard... Mylie heard two shots and was scared to death, so he stopped. She spent the next hour cuddling on my lap, which I loved, but felt so bad for her!
It starts to get dark so we head inside, not realizing that G had been chilling out in the office. The first thing Mylie does is go looking for G... She wants to play. Well, I see G is in attack mode, so I hop between the two of them. Stupid move on my part, I got attacked by G as he swatted at Mylie. Luckily he missed her, but my hand, stomach & left leg are tore up kinda bad. I immediately, not thinking about the scratches, grabbed G and tossed him outside. After watching the attack, Mylie went into killer mode... I've never seen her like this before, growling angrily, hair standing on end, she wanted more than anything to get the evil kitty.
Mylie spent the rest of the night by my side. I felt as though, I protected her from the loud noises, so she was protecting me from the evil kitty. We have this great connection sometimes.
On our way home we stop for ice cream. We're not there too long before Mylie starts FLIPPING OUT. She became very antsy and was whimpering... Then, before we know it a storm had approached us.
The poor girl had a long, rough day, and she's passed out now at my feet. I love that I got to spend the entire day with her!

I think Keiko would only have flipped out at the ice cream place cuz she would expect everyone to be sharing ... it never happens, yet she always expects it too hehe
