It has been over a month since I added vids to my YouTube page. Here are some I uploaded today...

    Brad: Thanks for sharing the videos! Love the fullllll rainbow --- you are so lucky with the vistas out there. Most rainbows here in Mn precipitously end, probably due to some interruption, like a tree or a building!

    Also, the video of Kona and Hilo is so cute... Kona tries to get into it, to no avail, so he tries to observe, and that doesn't get him any attention, so he sighs and lays down all dejected! Kai's are soooo expressive!

    Anyway, I could comment on everyone --- they are all great! Like the cart idea, too. Likely makes for less commotion around you and Jen... the cart is a buffer for the hungry horde! Just kidding ---- I'm amazed at how polite your doggies are at feeding time --- a credit to the humans of the pack!

    That's some pretty calm spam. The ladies are all so docile outside. Beautiful though.

    The Kona and Kai video is precious. Its almost like Kai is hoping that if Kona opens his mouth some food will pop out. :-)

    And the Kona and Hilo video is really funny. I love Kona's tail wagging. So cute! :-)

    And of course the Akita love is lovely. I can't believe how good looking Lani is. I love her playing with the ball in the earlier video too. I think Hilo is still my fav though. :-)

    Kyla - agreed! I drive about 50 hours or so for work all through the rain these past two weeks, and not one rainbow! Not one!! And Brad goes out to grill dinner and its just right there! :)

    In all seriousness, thanks for sharing. Any photos/vids/etc. from your pack are always wonderful! You have such a beautiful pack! (And Kona's tail in the one almost seems to be moving to the beat, how cute!)

    You gotta love Akita love!! Fuji's feet were going everywhere, hehehe. She's so cute! And very submissive to Hilo, or did I read it wrong?
    The feeding cart is great, Hilo has the whole "I get fed first, if you don't mind" thing pretty figured out, huh?

    Of course, great videos. Akita love....whew, what a triangle!! Hilo is such a stud. I also liked the Ahi and Kona video....some doggie porn going on there!!!! CUTE.

    In the Ahi and Kona video, while its very mellow, it is very interesting too.

    Ahi is super confident in play and rarely ever panics or freaks out if another dog is rougher or pins her - but if you watch closely you can see Ahi shows a little bit of panic when Kona is holding her down [watch her back legs and head movement - at about 00:50] - just the slightest little bit.

    That is Kona's MO, he uses his weight to hold the other dogs down, kinda like a "dead weight" technique - it seems to work pretty well. Kona is heavier than all of the other dogs except Hilo and Lani - Lani is 2lb heavier.

    This monsoon season was very busy so we had a bunch of rainbows.

    Rui - I think you are right, Fuji was offering so submissive posture to Hilo, same for Lani and even Kona in the other video. He is like the God Father. lol

    I love the one of Kaia and Kona. It is funny because Kona seems guarded with her. I am sure you can explain the dynamic but I would think it may have something to do with the fact that she is off limits for rough play.

    I LOVE the Akita love video. It is so sweet.

    How old is Loa? She is so much fluffier looking than Miko.

    Loa just turned a year - she is in heat too, so the girls get extra fluffy during that time. It is also pretty cool here at night now, low 40s - highs in the low 70s. It took Loa FOREVER to grow her coat back from blowing it this year.

    Kona is really sweet with Kaia and Maui, he is a very gentle little guy.

    You are right, he does seem guarded.... but I think it is more like how someone might be hesitant or apprehensive around their grandmother in fear of hurting her or something.

    They actually both show a tiny bit of stress in that vid - Kaia stretches and Kona yawns... Kaia's stretch, to me, seems like she is reassuring him because she noted his little stress yawn. Honestly tho, you are more the expert than me - I'm stoked [and envious] for you to start schooling all of us with the amazing stuff you learn!!! :o)

    Your description made perfect sense and explains the vibe I got perfectly. I knew you would have the perfect description. As far as me being more of an expert, I am not the one living with a huge pack of dogs. Most of my work is one on one stuff in a shelter setting amongst fearful and abused dogs.

    Brad I swear at this rate my perfect vacation would be to go out to Utah for a seminar or two at Best Friends and then to hang out in your teepee and learn from your dogs.

    I keep thinking Miko and Loa are closer in age than they are. Miko is 7 months and one week. And she still hasn't gotten her full big girl coat on her face and is in that gangly teenager phase. She has these crazy long legs and silly feet. And is so slender. Especially as she is pumping out all that extra fiber.
