Grrrrrrrr

So, I'm on the bus waiting to sit down. And the woman in the next seat is taking forever to sit down. Finally, I get to sit and I see the reason is a little, tiny Pitt Bull puppy. Actually, it was so little, that I didn't even realize it was a Pitt Pup. I ask 'How Old is she?'. Thinking it could me a runt....

THREE WEEKS. AND she's had the puppy for AWHILE. Grrrrr. But I don't lecture her, I said that was sad and told her all the reason a puppy needs to stay with it's mom for at least 8 weeks. And she's receptive to what I'm telling her. I come to find later on that the puppies were taken away from the mom quickly because she killed two of her puppies.

Of course, I wanted to go into the whole backyard breeding bit, but decided that might be a lost cause and maybe I could help this kid take good care of her puppy. So I ask what she's feeding it, give her some advice. I asked if she was kept around other dogs - no, that's good because she's not vaccinated, etc, etc, etc.

Hopefully, she'll listen to all I had to tell her. I wish I had another hour or two with her. Luckily, she lives close by, so hopefully, I'll get to see her around the hood.

My best friend just had a similar experience with a four week pit pup. So damn frustrating. Hopefully you inspired her to look into the best way for caring for her new baby. She has a rocky rocky road ahead of her.

Sometimes someone thinks he/she is helping and they're not exactly doing so becuase tehy don't know what they're doing.
Hopefully she listened to you and got some idea. I do hope you'll meet her again and can give some more guidance.

I forgot to mention that she initially told me that she wanted the puppy at an early age so that the puppy knew her as the mommy!
